I don’t claim to be a fashion expert. However, I do like to observe what’s going on in the world of fashion, especially as it pertains to sports.
I’ve noticed a definite recent trend. At a recent football game (The New England Patriots) there were the normal Pats player’s names and numbers and generic Patriots outerwear. But, I noticed there were a large number of people wearing “message shirts.” Among the more memorable Ts was “I can do anything better than u” and “Be careful what you wish for it could be me”. These reminded me of my marathoning days where while running Boston I wore a T that said on the front “What in the hell am I doing here” and on the back “Beating you.” I finished the race in 3:29 and change.
I believe that wearing clothing with a message can totally shift the way people look at you, especially in sports… and it can change the way you look at yourself. Wearing the “One Ball, One Shot, One Life” shirts reminds me that I should always perform at my best – and inspires others with this positive inspirational message.
